Artist Interview: art'otel

in the studio, art'otel Battersea London

I was an artist in Residence at the new art'otel Battersea London during February and March 2023

The majority of art'otel hotels around the world have a gallery rather than an artist studio, so when this new hotel opened its doors at the beginning of the year with an ambitions programme of artist residencies in a studio located at the hotel, I jumped at the opportunity to spend some time creating there!

EVENTS :: When Poetry Meets Art, 14 Feb 2023

Growing up, I was privileged to be surrounded by my father's artist friends who would spend hours discussing art, creating and collaborating on various projects in his sculpture studio. I realised I wanted to bring this atmosphere, reminiscent of the artist studios of the past, where artists can come together to share ideas and inspire one another to the studio of the art'otel.

In collaboration with my artist group South London Women Artist during my artist residency at art’otel London Battersea.

Uplifting Female Artists was a day of celebrating female art. With a rich variety of activities throughout the day including Poetry, artist networking sessions, drawing sessions and the opportunity to go home with improvised sketch of yourself!
