ARTIST PORTOLIO
art’otel Battersea is the first of it’s kind in the UK and has just opened it’s doors opposite the Battersea Power Station. A second hotel is due to open, also in London, in the coming year.
My residency will offer guests and visitors of art’otel Battersea the opportunity to observe and participate in the creation of a new series of mixed media artworks, inspired by the city of London, drawing inspiration from the ancient history of the UK through to our hyper modern, almost futuristic, presence.
By conceptualising and sketching out ideas alongside me, the audience will become both the inspiration and the co-creator behind each new artwork.
Visitors can learn about the materials I use and get hands-on experience in the form of guided painting tutorials and workshops.
As such, this residency will be both a visually stimulating and educational artistic experience.
“My goal is to create works of art that capture the spirit of London, using a combination of materials and techniques that bridge the gap between traditional and modern art.”
During my residency at art’otel Battersea, I will explore the idea of mixing traditional art techniques with modern materials, creating a new concept of acrylic and mosaic mixed media cityscapes.
I will combine the vibrant colours and sharp precise lines of acrylic paint with the tactile texture of wood, glass, mosaic tile, paper and fabric to portray the unique energy of the city and create a 3-dimensional representation of a cityscape.
By combining traditional painting techniques with mosaic making and sculptural elements, I will reimagine the urban landscape, crafting a unique vision of London’s past and present and hope to create captivating and unique works of art that will evoke a sense of wonder and awe in the viewer.
An exhibition - at the art studio - on view throughout the month of February, by appointment only. You need to make sure I’ll be there to show you around. A range of existing artworks will be on display throughout the residency.

I hope that my residency will provide a unique opportunity for visitors to experience firsthand the creative process of an artist. By encouraging visitors to engage in discussion and participate in the creation of a new series of paintings, they will gain insight into the artist's creative process and the inspirations behind the artwork.
Through this, visitors can develop an appreciation for art and its creative potential, as well as gain a greater understanding of the relationship between the artist and their work.
Additionally, this residency will serve to provide an opportunity for visitors to appreciate the unique history, culture, and identity of London and its people, as well as the ever-evolving relationship between the city and the artist.
